Ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυΐδ, ὁπότε ἀπεδίδρασκεν ἀπὸ προσώπου ᾿Αβεσσαλὼμ τοῦ υἱοῦ αὐτοῦ | A psalm by David, when he fled from the face of Abessalom[fn] his son. |
ΚΥΡΙΕ, τί ἐπληθύνθησαν οἱ θλίβοντές με; πολλοὶ ἐπανίστανται ἐπ᾿ ἐμέ· | Lord, why do those who afflict me increase? Many rise up against me. |
| Many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in his God.” (Diapsalma.) |
| But you, O Lord, are my protector, my glory, and the one lifting my head. |
| With my voice I cried out to the Lord, and he heard me from his holy mountain. (Diapsalma.) |
| I died[fn] and I slept; I arose, for the Lord shall come to my aid. |
| I shall not be frightened by the myriads of people attacking me from all around. |
| Arise, O Lord; save me, my God! For you struck all those foolishly at enmity with me; you shattered the teeth of sinners. |
| Salvation is the Lord’s, and upon your people is your blessing! |
