| ΜΑΚΑΡΙΟΣ ἀνήρ, ὃς οὐκ ἐπορεύθη ἐν βουλῇ ἀσεβῶν καὶ ἐν ὁδῷ ἁμαρτωλῶν οὐκ ἔστη καὶ ἐπὶ καθέδρᾳ λοιμῶν οὐκ ἐκάθισεν. | 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the impious, who does not stand in the way with sinners, and who does not sit on the seat of the pernicious. |
| 2 ἀλλ᾿ ἤ ἐν τῷ νόμῳ Κυρίου τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐν τῷ νόμῳ αὐτοῦ μελετήσει ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός. | 2 Instead his desire is the law of the Lord, and on the Lord’s law he meditates day and night. |
| 3 καὶ ἔσται ὡς τὸ ξύλον τὸ πεφυτευμένον παρὰ τὰς διεξόδους τῶν ὑδάτων, ὃ τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ δώσει ἐν καιρῷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὸ φύλλον αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἀποῤῥυήσεται· καὶ πάντα, ὅσα ἂν ποιῇ, κατευοδωθήσεται. | 3 He shall be as a tree planted by the springs of water, which shall give its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not fall; and in all things, whatsoever he should do, he shall prosper. |
| 4 οὐχ οὕτως οἱ ἀσεβεῖς, οὐχ οὕτως, ἀλλ᾿ ἢ ὡσεὶ χνοῦς, ὃν ἐκρίπτει ὁ ἄνεμος ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς. | 4 It is not so with the impious, not so! Instead they are as chaff which the wind blows from the face of the earth. |
| 5 διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἀναστήσονται ἀσεβεῖς ἐν κρίσει, οὐδὲ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐν βουλῇ δικαίων· | 5 Therefore the impious shall not withstand judgment, neither shall sinners withstand the counsel of the righteous; |
| 6 ὅτι γινώσκει Κύριος ὁδὸν δικαίων, καὶ ὁδὸς ἀσεβῶν ἀπολεῖται. | 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the impious shall perish. |
| 7 οὐ φοβηθήσομαι ἀπὸ μυριάδων λαοῦ τῶν κύκλῳ συνεπιτιθεμένων μοι. | I shall not be frightened by the myriads of people attacking me from all around. |
| 8 ἀνάστα, Κύριε, σῶσόν με, ὁ Θεός μου, ὅτι σὺ ἐπάταξας πάντας τοὺς ἐχθραίνοντάς μοι ματαίως, ὀδόντας ἁμαρτωλῶν συνέτριψας. | Arise, O Lord; save me, my God! For you struck all those foolishly at enmity with me; you shattered the teeth of sinners. |
| 9 τοῦ Κυρίου ἡ σωτηρία, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν σου ἡ εὐλογία σου. | Salvation is the Lord’s, and upon your people is your blessing! |
